Almost nobody enjoys writing a will. It is a job that gets moved to next month for years at a time, and the websites in this sector rarely help, tending towards dark panelling, stock photographs of handshakes and language that makes an already uncomfortable subject feel colder. Freedom Wills work in the opposite spirit, friendly and unhurried, and the website needed to signal that before a visitor read a single line.
So the design is warm and human, with plenty of space and a plain, conversational tone. The intent is that someone who has been putting this off for years lands on the site and thinks it looks manageable. That impression is the entire job of the homepage, and everything else follows from it.
Structurally, the interesting problem was that Freedom Wills serve two quite different people. One wants someone to sit at their kitchen table and talk it through properly. The other wants a straightforward will sorted online this evening without a conversation at all. Those are opposite preferences, and a site that pushes everyone down one path loses the other. We built both routes so they sit side by side, each clearly signposted, neither getting in the other's way.
The supporting content does the reassuring. Lasting Powers of Attorney, document storage and a genuine FAQ layer answer the questions people are too polite to ask, in plain English. Underneath it is the usual groundwork, fast, mobile first and structured for the local searches that matter around Broadstone, Poole and Bournemouth, hosted and supported by our team.
A warm, human design that avoids the panelled-office cliche of the legal sector, because the whole proposition here is that this need not be daunting.
The site carries both paths at once, a full consultation at home and a simpler online will, without either one getting in the other's way.
